quick write review

Say doth grace burn on wood?
seep eternal fumes
in light of a world
instructed by
doom.

Short poem written in 5 minutes, prompt ( courtusy of openmicvoices.com)was to use the words grace, wood, and light;two of the three words belonging in the first sentence.

Speaking of open mics, I've spent a night this week in Washington D.C. at the critically acclaimed "Bus boys and poets" off 2021 14th st. The name was inspired from the famous poet Langston Hues whom amoung many day jobs, worked  as a busboy to support his craft. Many experiences await you as you enter the hybrid of  book store, made resturant, made show room.Amongst the many gems in the bookstore was the host's book "Wistom teeth"; published by Busboys and poets press. While i did skip out on the food, i was able to enjoy the atmosphere of plentyful knowlage and even got a crack a the stage myself. Like the room, muraled with photos of MLK , gandhi and many events in history, many preformers showed diverseity in there words and their style. Dim lights set the mood so it feels like the exact way u pictured open mic poetry to be. Unfortuntely i was unable to stay the whole time but even so, if you ever even think about coming to D.C. this place should be on your list. Just make sure to order your 5$ tickets online so you wont be stuck outside the doors.
